Loewen Gallery’s Featured Artist
Pamela Loewen: Redefining Quilt Making as Art
For over 30 years, Pamela Stillman Loewen has evolved from a traditional quilt maker to a celebrated contemporary fiber artist. A pivotal moment came in 2002 while living in New Zealand, when she studied with master quilt maker Nancy Crow, inspiring her to approach quilt-making as fine art. Since then, her work has been juried into prestigious shows like Quilt National and Quilts=Art=Quilts, with one piece recently acquired by the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Pamela’s designs draw inspiration from nature, her extensive travels, and a passion for color and texture. Known for dyeing her own fabrics to achieve complete creative control, her innovative quilts transform tradition into contemporary masterpieces that captivate and inspire.
